IT Hiring Is Up

Strong IT Jobs Market Is Hiring

By Pam Golden

It is a good time to find an IT job. While national unemployment exceeds 14 percent, unemployment in the IT sector remains low at just 4.3 percent, indicating that the opportunities for a career in IT are strong.

According to the July CompTIA IT Employment Tracker, more than 250,000 IT jobs in the U.S. were posted in June. IT Support Specialist is among the top 5 positions available with 22,000 job postings, an increase of 4,700 over May.  And, the number of remote/work-from-home IT Support Specialist job postings ranked second in June with 1,121 more postings than May. In fact, nearly 1 out of every 4 IT Support Specialist jobs posted were for remote hires.

There are many IT career opportunities for the millions of unemployed, ranging from IT support technicians to IT help desk jobs. Training and certification in CompTIA A+ along with career services from CompTIA Tech Career Academy can help you land one of those IT jobs.

Don’t have IT experience or training? Our IT-Ready Technical Support program solves that.

The class will prepare you for the CompTIA A+ exam, as well as help you make connections to employers for job opportunities. You’ll also receive targeted professional development to refine critical business skills, such as communication, conflict management, teamwork, critical thinking and problem solving.

The 16-week morning class for the online IT-Ready Technical Support program starts August 17 for residents of AK, AZ, CT, DE, FL, HI, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, ME, MN, MS, NE, NH, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, SC, SD, TN, VT, VA, WA, WV and WY.  Students will have class from 9 a.m. to noon CT, Monday-Friday, and graduate by December 8, ready to launch their new tech careers in 2021.
